Pat (and the Bush Administration) assures us:

That's absolutely right.  And the fact that Bush's advance PR team had been 
on board the ship for three days before Bush arrived on the deck in that 
flight suit had absolutely nothing to do it.  Yeah, that's the ticket.  And 
they had to place the podium in front of the "Mission Accomplished" sign 
because they couldn't take it down . . . because . . . because it was 
covering up a big hole.  Yeah, rats ate a hole in the ship.  They'll eat 
anything.  Karl Rove had eaten all the cheese, so the rats had to make do 
with a little steel, and that was because . . . they'd already eaten George 
Bush's street clothes.  They'd eaten up the blue polyester, and so George 
had to appear in a flight suit because that was all the sailors had 
available in a 42 short.  Yeah.  No photo op.  No set up.  Who told you that 
lie?  Was it . . . John Kerry?  John Kerry wasn't in Vietnam, you know . . . 
he and Max Cleland were with Jane Fonda, making Barbarella.  Yeah, that's 
the ticket.  Yeah.
