PLAZA CONCERTS BEGIN AT 1912 CENTER
Heart of the Arts, Inc., Sponsors Center Summer Fund Raisers
MOSCOW, IDAHO: The Plaza on Third Street at the 1912 Center will have =
its first official public outdoor concert series beginning Tuesday, June =
22, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, sponsored by Heart of the Arts, Inc. (HAI). =
While the music is free to the public, donations will be accepted to =
benefit the concert series and further construction of the Center.
The concert series will take advantage of the plaza area adjacent to the =
Center's Great Room to provide a new, innovative space for music, and =
socializing. Because Moscow summer evenings are especially suited to =
music, HAI added an invaluable feature to the event: ethnic food from =
the Farmers Market. Patrons can come between 6 and 6:30 PM and purchase =
small plates of their favorites: Turkish food from Ziya or from the =
Kochmans; Cocina Mexicana; Pakistani food; Jill Turner's Homemade bread =
and beverages; or the cookies, cakes and drinks of Taylormade.
The inaugural concert will feature the University of Idaho Cello Choir =
including Ursel Schuette, Nathan Harsh, Marshall Taylor, Emily Nelson =
and Matthew White, followed by flute music.=20
Continuing with the Tuesday theme, two July dates have been tapped: July =
13 and July 20. July 13 will feature a summer string ensemble. July 20 =
is jazz. The Plaza Concert Series will conclude with the Dozier Jazz =
Duo, Dodie Dozier, keyboard, and Dick Dozier, bass, on August 24. Food =
specialties of the Market will be featured at each concert.=20
In case of rain, the concert and the food will move into the Great Room =
at the 1912 Center. HAI sponsors events at the 1912 Center such as the =
Plaza Concert Series to illustrate the many ways the building can be =
used by the arts community and others to "keep Moscow Moscow" and to =
encourage the completion of the Center for community uses.=20
