[Vision2020] Property Tax Proposal

I agree with Mr. Harkins -

If we have the laws on the county books concerning various eligibility
"levels" for tax-exempt status, maybe what we the people of Latah County
need is not only somebody that thoroughly understands them, but will enforce
them.

It is my opinion that with every decision made by the Latah County BOCC
concerning landmark cases, a precedent is established.  If this decision is
in error or uninformed, a severe fiscally-impacting slippery slope is
created.  By their own admission, the current BOCC lacks sufficient
knowledge and/or experience to act as an effective Board of Equalization.

Considering the extensive financial restrictions currently being placed
against Latah County and the University of Idaho, resulting in lost jobs, we
NEED a county commissioner that possesses a thorough knowledge of county tax
laws and will be there when the phone rings as it did on July 6, 9, and 12.

We can no longer afford to "rubber stamp" the Anselm Houses of tomorrow.
