All:
With the recent revelations from former Treasury Secretary O'Neill, and the
report from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, that indicate Bush
was planning the invasion of Iraq prior to 9/11, and that there was a
deliberate false manipulation of intelligence to suggest an immediate threat from
Iraq's WMDs, the evidence continues to mount that the American public was fed lies
to lead us to war.
What is astonishing is that this is not inspiring large scale outrage.
Regardless of how anyone now feels about the right or wrong of what the future may
bring in Iraq, how can any one of any political persuasion accept lies coming
from the US government to justify the US waging war, without demanding
accountability? I think lies that are used to justify going to war are far more
serious than the lies about sexual conduct that inspired Clinton's impeachment.
