Greg Dickinson=E2=80=99s strongly worded email regarding liberal intolerance=
of=20
diversity (aka Christ Church leadership and members) would be worthy of thou=
ghtful=20
reflection if it were possible to believe, even for a single moment, that=20
there was one iota of reciprocal respect from which to begin a substantive=20
dialogue. In my opinion, there is not. I clearly remember a debate held at=
the Old=20
Post Office building during the Proposition 1 campaign. I was in the audien=
ce=20
and heard Greg respond to a question regarding the appropriate =E2=80=9Cpuni=
shment=E2=80=9D=20
for homosexual acts between gay or lesbian people. Surely you remember it=20
too, Greg. You were unequivocal in declaring that the punishment for homose=
xual=20
behavior was stoning. Isn=E2=80=99t this a sincere statement of your person=
al belief=20
as well as the biblical doctrine sustained at Christ Church? Your response=20
clearly delineates the chasm between us. It is not a question of the free=20
exercise of constitutional religious rights. It is a snapshot of your visio=
n of=20
the longed for Kingdom of Zion that the reformed evangelicals of Christ Chur=
ch=20
and their brethren hope to build in this country. It is a for-shadowing of=20=
the=20
kind of =E2=80=9Cjustice=E2=80=9D that you and your fellow believers have in=
store for=20
members of my family.
=20
George Grant, a featured speaker at Credenda History conferences, (who will=20
be in Moscow again this February) has this to say about tolerance and=20
diversity. =20
=20
=E2=80=9CChristians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy=20
responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ - to have dominion in th=
e civil=20
structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness. But it is=20=
dominion=20
that we are after. Not just a voice. It is dominion we are afier [sic:=20
after]. Not just influence. It is dominion we are after. Not just equal ti=
me. It=20
is dominion we are after. World conquest. That's what Christ has commission=
ed=20
us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we=
=20
must never settle for anything less. If Jesus Christ is indeed Lord, as the=
=20
Bible says, and if our commission is to bring the land into subjection to Hi=
s=20
Lordship, as the Bible says, then all our activities, all our witnessing, al=
l=20
our preaching, all our craftsmanship, all our stewardship, and all our polit=
ical=20
action will aim at nothing short of that sacred purpose. Thus, Christian=20
politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land - of men, famili=
es,=20
institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Chri=
st.=20
It is to reinstitute the authority of God's Word as supreme over all=20
judgments, over all legislation, over all declarations, constitutions, and=20
confederations. True Christian political action seeks to rein the passions o=
f men and curb=20
the pattern of digression under God's rule.=E2=80=9D George Grant, The Chang=
ing of=20
the Guard (Ft. Worth, TX: Dominion Press, 1987), pp. 50-51.=20

Quite an agenda, Greg, care to refute it? Do you deny that this is the=20
system of government you and George and your religious colleagues are strivi=
ng to=20
achieve? How can you be disdainful or angry about the =E2=80=9Cliberal=E2=
=80=9D (what ever=20
that means) response to this kind of inflammatory and outrageous rhetoric?
Continuing to happily stand with Tom Hansen and other like-minded folks and=20
say
=E2=80=9CNot On The Palouse, Not Now, Not Ever=E2=80=9D!

PS What do you suppose George meant by "craftsmanship"? =20
