P.S. Stiles writes=E2=80=9D
"Scholarship and credentials are a cheap substitute for character" =20
How does that statement apply to the subject at hand? If I want to learn=20
something or take advantage of someone's expertise I don't require a moral l=
itmus=20
test from my instructor. I do want to know about his/her training,=20
experience, and/or credentials. Perhaps you are implying that Doug Wilson's=
 character=20
is such that it is a credible substitute for formal training. I caution you=
=20
against going down that road - in many ways it is the root of our arguments=20=
in=20
opposition to Wilson Inc. =20
While you may hold a belief in the inerrancy of the bible, I trust you do no=
t=20
sustain a similar belief in the inerrancy of Doug Wilson. However, you=20
understand (as we do) that submission to his leadership (and by extension hi=
s=20
exegesis) is a crucial component if one wishes to remain in good standing in=
 any of=20
his organizations. That attitude is of course anathema to genuine=20
scholarship, (and I would argue a genuine commitment to Christianity). The c=
ult of=20
personality is not a worthy substitute for thoughtful examination of *truth*=
 claims=20
in secular or religious areas. =20
