Good question, Tim. I don't know why others didn't recruit him more
heavily.

Speed? Apparently that's not it since he played safety on defense as =

Hi did break his leg in the state championship game which may have =
dissuaded
some teams, but recruiting relationships would have been established =

before that.

My hunch is that there may have been another team in the mix, because
signing day for most recruits was Feb 4. Why didn't he sign on then? =
It's
anybody's guess. Maybe something fell through. In any case, it's a big
plus for the Vandals, especially because he's #2 all-time in passing =
yards
for WA high schools. #1 was his predecessor at DeSales and at UI, Brian
Lindgren. Given that Lindgren didn't have the best of experiences here, =
I'd
say were lucky that Nick Holt won the recruiting battle.

Last week it was reported that TJ Conley, a 6-3 195-pound QB out of =
DeSales=20
High in Walla Walla signed on with the Vandals. (This is the same high=20
school that produced Brian Lindgren.) Conley is 2nd all-time in =
Washington=20
high school passing (2nd to Lindgren). He=12s also an excellent punter.=20
Conley also had scholarship offers from Eastern Washington and Western=20
Washington.
