Attention All Ye Visionaries,
Did you know that you may have your Christmas tree composted by Moscow Recycling? Instead of throwing your tree out with the garbage, requiring a green garbage tag, bring it down, free of charge, to Moscow Recycling's 24 Hour Yard Waste Drop-off Bins located directly behind the Recycling Center on N. Almon St. Taking your tree to these bins will ensure that it will be composted, not taking up space in a landfill. Please be sure to remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel, tree stands and metal nails before placing your tree in the bins. If your tree is taller than five feet, please cut it into sections of five feet or less. Because the drop-off area is open 24 hours you can bring your tree to this lighted site any time it is convenient for you. You may also bring your Christmas tree to the Solid Waste Processing Facility (SWPF)free of charge as well. The SWPF is located 5 miles east of Moscow on HWY 8 and is open form 8:00 am. to 4:00 pm. Monday though Saturday. And just think, maybe next year when you pick up some free compost at Latah Sanitation, it might just be the tree that you dropped off this Christmas! We hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday and want to thank you all for your waste reduction efforts.
