[Vision2020] Paranoia 101 (Practical Application)

I'm confused & hoping for clarification.

Tom shared the following from Doug Wilson's blog:
"Dr. Nick Gier . . . was recently seen on [] St. in Moscow, looking to link up
with Charles Nolan . . . Subsequent events indicated that they did in fact find
each other." 

Wayne responded:
"Also, thank you Jack for your assiduous work in keeping the Cult Master
informed on the activities of your neighbors."

To which Jack responded:
"Considering I was out of the state when the alleged meeting took place you'll
have to fabricate another delusion to explain it."

I gather from the above exchange that Jack is a neighbor of Charles Nolan.

However, what confuses me is Jack's defense (not that I'm clear on why a defense
was needed):  how can Jack say he was out of state at the time since Wilson's
blog entry doesn't say *when* this activity supposedly took place???

Am I missing something?
