Visionaries:
It is difficult to imagine, given the unlimited scope, exquisite prose,
spiritual comfort and inspiration of the bible, that pastor Wilson would select
verses on gossip and slander (and cover ups - but that's another story) with
which to hector readers. However, it did encourage me to think about what I would
choose (were I writing such a column) and wanted to send a not so subtle
message to a specific audience. In that vein, I decided on the following:
"Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine,
and valiant men in mixing strong drink,
who acquit the guilty for a bribe,
and deprive the innocent of his right!"
Isaiah 5:21-23.
