Greetings Visionaires -

This is from todays Today@Idaho:

UI CHEMICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS TAKE TOP HONORS AT INTERNATIONAL DESIGN
COMPETITION

Two teams of UId chemical engineering students brought back three
first-place awards and $7,500 in prize money from the Waste-management
Education Research Consortium competition in Las Cruces, N.M. April 3-9.

The combined UI teams received the overall first-place multi-task team award
of all the 20 competing universities. They basically developed technology to
reduce the costs associated with silicon chip manufacturing, and a method to
remove from domestic water systems an industrial-related contaminate that is
toxic to humans. This earned them the CH2MHill award for sustainability.

The completed projects will be presented on the UI campus at the Engineering
Design EXPO April 30, at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in the Borah Theatre.
