Nancy Chaney Endorsed for Moscow City Council

The Moscow Civic Association has endorsed Nancy Chaney, a
candidate for the two-year Moscow City Council term, in the November
election, announced Amy Mazur, MCA board member and coordinator of the
MCA elections committee.

The MCA's goal was to identify and support two excellent
candidates, Mazur explained. With Chaney and previously-endorsed
candidate John Dickinson, that goal has been met.

"The MCA now endorses two individuals who care about the
long-term future of the community and who share the organization's
progressive values," Mazur said. "We were successful in bringing new
voices to the debate about our community's future."

Now, the organization will focus on supplying funding and
volunteer support for the two candidates. The MCA will also begin a
public education campaign to get voters to the polls in November.

The next MCA public meeting will be on Monday, October 13,
at 7:30pm at the 1912 Building in Moscow. This meeting will include a
candidates' forum, where all Council candidates will be invited to speak
and answer questions. The group will also organize a get-out-the-vote
evening on November 3, the night before the election.

Nancy Chaney lives in Moscow and is a partner in a
veterinary specialty business. Chaney is also a member of the boards of
the Latah Trail Foundation and the Moscow Civic Association. Her
campaign treasurer is Tim Kinkeade, and her campaign can be reached at
PO Box 8293 in Moscow, or at 882-9350, or at nchaney@moscow.com.

More information about the MCA and the October meeting is
available on the MCA website, www.moscowcivic.org
