<P>I want to replace all the crosses with big fat Buddhas and Zeus. It is not my religion but I find it more meaningful than a cross. If they want it to be a symbol of Christianity they should use a crucifix instead.</P>

<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Although I am against the government "sponsoring" any specific religion, I
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;believe that the cross does have a place in federal buildings. In my mind
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;it represents the vast majority of recognized religions within the United
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;States.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I also believe in the separation of church and state in that (as suggested
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;above) our government must not prefer (or favor) one religion over any
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;other. If I didn't believe in God or any religion, I certainly would not
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt;have been married in a church.

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; Those crosses are in a context where I doubt the ACLU is going to
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; make any
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; issue.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; Remember, we are still, according to the pledge spoken in the "government
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; schools," "one nation under God."
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; But is this a God of love and compassion or a God of vengeance? It seems
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; some true believers want it both ways to suit whatever agenda
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; they have in
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; mind at the moment.
