<P>I just came from the Moscow City Council meeting that explained this. While I do not agree with the decision still, I can answer some of these questions now. I think the City Council should build what the youth in Moscow want.</P>
<P>Tom Hansen asks:</P></DIV>
<P>1) "It is stated several times within the website that, based upon Moscow's </P>

<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>>toward salaries. However, that is as detailed as the comment develops. </P>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>>What salaries are being paid with the $4.5 million?"</P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>Those salaries include that of Mrs.Hamilton. Only about $3.5 million can be used because $1million must be used for interest to pay Mrs. Hamilton. About $2.7 million will be used for construction of the recreation facility and the remaining to be held to pay for operation costs and salaries of workers.</P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>Tom Hansen asks:<BR>2) "The recommendation that authors of the website are apparently against: </P>

<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>>million. What to do with the remaining $300,000? </P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>This is wrong: </P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>$2.7 million construction</P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>$1 million invested and interest used for Mrs. Hamilton</P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>about $3million to $4million are in stocks that can't be liquidated without losing the value on the stocks.</P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>The remaining will be invested to generate earnings to pay for the operations, salaries, and maintenance of the facilities.</P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>$150,000 was donated to the Ice Rink </P>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>Again, I do wish to point out that I think this recreation center is a loss in comparison of what we could do with the money. I think spreading the money out a bit more would be more productive and doing matching grants for other projects as well would be more beneficial. This current plan would be horrible, I think, for some disabled children or children that are not likely to be that physical or take no interest in sports. The facility seems to offer nothing new that the youth of Moscow don't already have except "pickle ball" which I am sure is high demand from the six kids that actually know what it is. :)</P>

<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>Greetings Visionaires -
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>After reviewing stopthegym.com, I have a couple questions:
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>1) It is stated several times within the website that, based upon Moscow's
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>recommendation, approximately $4.5 million of the $7 million will be going
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>toward salaries. However, that is as detailed as the comment develops.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>What salaries are being paid with the $4.5 million?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>2) Reference is made to:
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>http://www.enter.md/gymalternative.htm
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>The recommendation that authors of the website are apparently against:
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>Recommendation B reflects Moscow's suggestion showing "expected long term
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>operating losses" of $4 million and a complex consisting of a gymnasium,
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>offices, and a multipurpose room at a cost of $2.7 million. Total: $6.7
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>million. What to do with the remaining $300,000?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>The recommendation that authors of the website favor: Without going into
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>itemized costs of Recommendation A, the total ranges from a minimum of $8.2
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>million to a maximum of $8.7 million. It should also be noted that these
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>costs entail:
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>a) $500,00 for a Logos School gymnasium in Moscow. How many of Moscow's
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>children would benefit from that construction?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>b) $2.5 million for a basketball/volleyball complex in Spokane. Again I
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>ask: How many of Moscow's children would benefit from that construction?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>c) $700,000 for baseball and soccer fields in Boise. I know that I am
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>beginning to sound like a broken record, but "How many of Moscow's children
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>would benefit from that construction?"
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>Suddenly those "expected long term operating losses" HERE IN MOSCOW do not
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>look so expensive, do they?
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>Take care,
<DIV></DIV>
