What is interesting here is that anyone with an education would know that attacking a person rather then the issue is an illogical argument. In fact it is has a name, and if my memory serves me right it is called an "ad hominid". It is attacking a person rather then the issue. This is a good way to ignore the problem when you have a weak argument. But as long as we wish to attack peoples intelligence, may remind people that Bush W failed to gain entrance into Law School, and received a C- in international studies at a University that has a policy not to give out D's and F's. I will not get into why Bush got into a good University because that will make people angry too.

Some people think W Bush is smart, maybe to them he is.

I agree that the celebrities should not be calling the folks in the administration names. Name calling should be left to the right-wing talk show hosts who continually condemn and bad mouth liberals, particularly these same celebrities.

The debate over the Iraqi issue is best served by debating the issues. It is fair, though, to talk about the history of the individuals involved, thus giving people a perspective of possible confilcts of interest.

I'm sure the celebrities who speak out about the war are sincere in their beliefs. They are using their media privelage to highlight that. Perhaps they may not have much experience in scholasitic endeavours, but that does not mean they aren't aware of the issue they are criticizing, nor does it mean they deserve to be called names, even if they are name calling themselves.

It is easy to to call those you don't agree with names. I'm sure some of you call me all sorts of names. But that is no way to convince someone of your argument. I will read and contemplate your well reasoned words, but they become less meaningful when a bad name enters the picture.
