Greetings Visionaires -
To an extent, I agree that the quality of an education provided by a school
district can be evaluated financially.
Teachers'/Instructors' salaries must be maintained at a competitive level
with their regional counterparts. If salaries/wages are higher in other
communities than in Moscow, a majority of teachers/instructors will jump
ship for the sake of higher income. This holds true at UI as well. I have
noticed continuous changes of faculty in the College of Business since I
graduated in 1996. Most of this attrition was caused by a tight budget at
UI coupled with the availability of professorships at other universities on
a higher pay scale.
