I guess the commissioners should have spent money on yard
signs.
The bond issue never had a chance and it wouldn't have had a
chance if the commissioners had spent twice as much
promoting it. This brings us to the question of "What were
the commissioners thinking?" I understand elections cost
money even if you don't pony up $20,000 to promote approval.
This critical comment comes from someone who voted yes, and
who was optimistic: I predicted 40 percent of those voting
would approve. Instead, as we all know know, 36 percent
approved when 67 percent was needed.
