Rather than call myself, I got Rose to do it. (In case any of you were
wondering, this is what mother-in-laws are for.) She just got off the
phone. Someone booked a room at the Mark IV for this evening; David Irving,
both on his web-site and in a private email, said that he would be speaking
there tonight; concerned citizens called the Mark IV, the Mark IV did some
research, and they decided that Irving was not the sort of guest they wanted
to entertain. The Mark IV's restaurant manager called the number that had
been given when the reservation was made, and the person who answered gave a
"confused" response. No one claimed that it was Irving who called the
meeting off. No one claimed that Irving called the police. So where's the
quibble?

The next time you pick up a stick, you might make sure that you've got the
right end.
