 Moscow Resident Plans Free Slide Show About Haiti

     Moscow resident Nancy Casey will show slides and speak about her
experiences living in a remote Haitian village on Thursday, September 11
at
7:00 p.m. at The Attic, 314 E. Second St. in Moscow.  The presentation
is
free and open to the public.
     Casey spent the first several months of this year in a mountain
village
on Lagonav, an island off the coast of Haiti.  She lived with a family,
helped establish a community garden, and plans to return to Haiti this
fall
to continue helping local residents become more self-sufficient in food
production.
     When Casey returns to Haiti this year she plans to help 5 village
families
build cisterns that will collect water during the rainy season and
permit
the families to grow food year-round.
