I have to disagree that Ralph Nader is the primary reason Bush is in the white house.

The Florida controversy is the primary reason. Thousands of people, mostly black, had their names "scrubed" from the voting list because they were the same or similar to convicted felons. These people were prevented from casting their votes. Jewish ladies in Palm Beach voted for Buchanan because of a confusing "butterfly ballot." Whose to say who these people would have voted for in reality, but the the bottom line is that Bush had to sue in order to win. Blame the Supreme court for giving Bush the crown.

Also, Gore didn't even win in his home state or Clinton's home state, which says a lot about his appeal.

Nader is a scape goat who does not deserve the criticism some are giving him over the election. The bottom line is he has done a lot to make this country a better place. Perhaps his choice to run for president was unwise, but it certainly was not the main reason Gore lost in 2000.

His message is still pertinant and in my opinion, is a critical one to contemplate if we want to truly have an equitable society.

Besides, one could blame Perot for putting Clinton in the whitehouse in 1992. If Perot didn't run, chances are Gore would not have been VP and thus the democratic candidate in 2000. Perhaps the dems would have had a stronger candidate instead.
