Bob,
Thank you for that post. It is no wonder there are not more people of Iraq
who are welcoming our troops. We helped build up the government power base
that Saddam used to torture them! No wonder a large majority of the
citizens of the world who voice an opinion on the matter do not want a our
military in the region. A government with a foreign policy that is
dripping with hypocracy cannot be trusted! Doing an occasional good deed
with our military in the last 40 years is not enough to change that.
To spin a metaphore--a problem cannot be fixed with the same type of
mistakes that created it.
Actually, the book sounds like old news that numerous journalists,
documentaries, and scholars have since collaborated, but I still very glad
you made the post.
