Please join us on Wed., November 16, for perennial program favorites Dan
Poleschook, Jr. and Ginger Gumm on the Status & Conservation of the Common
Loon in Washington State.
This program will relate the successes and failures of nesting Common Loons
in western and northeastern Washington. Of all the states with Common Loon
nesting territories, Washington is the closest to having its population of
loons extirpated. Loon observations and conservation efforts at Ferry Lake
and Swan Lake have helped bring attention to nesting loons and other
wildlife in the region, which has been designated as a "Watchable Wildlife"
location by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Dan and Ginger
are professional photographers and one of the highlights of the program will
be their photographs.
The program is free and open to the public. It begins at 7:30pm at the 1912
Building, 3rd and Adams, in Moscow.
Refreshments will be served including shade grown coffee.
