12.0pt'>Students are now well into the routine of the second semester of the
2009-10 school year. New schedules, classes, and routines began on
January 25th. Most students had a seamless transition, but the new
schedule did cause some student confusion reading their new schedules resulting
in double lunches for a few students on the first day of the new
semester. No one seemed to complain about that problem!<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>This is a short week for students with Friday, February 12, being an
important day for teachers and no school for students. Multiple trainings
will be taking place to help teachers understand updates and changes to the
work they do with all students. Monday, February 15, is President’s
Day and is a holiday for all <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Moscow</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">School District</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> students
and staff members. School begins again on Tuesday, February 16, and is
scheduled as a regular day for all students who attend the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Moscow</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">School District</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, we get more deliveries
for students. We recommend that valentine’s treats be delivered to
the home or other appropriate location outside of the school day. Our
office is a busy place and we just don’t have the manpower to deliver a
large number of items to students in classrooms. In addition, candy and
other items in the classroom can become a disruption. We thank you for
your support with this particular activity.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>The Winter MJHS All-School Dance takes place this Thursday night from
6:00-8:00 p.m. If you would like to chaperone, Mr. Hill is still taking
volunteers. Please send him an email or call the office to let him know
you are coming. We also provide multiple teacher chaperones to ensure
that this activity is safe and appropriate for our student population.
This dance has the added attraction of some video game options, so it should be
an active and fun opportunity for our students.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>By now you should have received your son or daughter’s first
semester Report Card, the third edition of the Cub Communicator, and a special
brochure to help parents and students understand Internet safety, which was
published by students in one of Tiffany Scripter’s English classes.
Mrs. Stewart, our school librarian, led the project to completion.

We have made it a priority to keep the website updated with critical
information that can help with everything from research to calendar
information. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

12.0pt'>All parents are invited to an “alcohol and drug trends training”
sponsored by the Latah Sheriff’s Department. The training will occur on
April 15<sup>th</sup> from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and will be held in the <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Moscow</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">High
School</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> auditorium. Topics include: under age
drinking/binge drinking/new beverages/new methods of concealment/clothing, teen
drug use/indicators/trends/drug choices/new drugs/new methods of delivery. The
speaker is Officer Jermaine Galloway of the Boise Police Department.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
