that they are ready for a holiday break, but we are finishing up important
classroom projects and there are some important papers and tests due before we
let them go tomorrow afternoon.</FONT></P>

PowerSchool.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>If you have not been
able to access this very important online tool, please contact the MJHS office
and we will make sure that you are able to access your child’s

face="Times New Roman" size=3>It has been a busy time these past few weeks.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Our Master Schedule committee made a
recommendation to the Superintendent of Schools to change our daily bell
schedule for the 2009-10 school year.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>The recommendation was approved at the December 16, 2008 Board of
Trustees meeting and we are excited to begin planning for this exciting
change.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>It is the first time in at
least thirty-eight years that our schedule has changed.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The new format will provide students
with the same amount of classes, but the time has been organized so they will be
able to more deeply explore each subject area.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Our school day will start at 8:20 a.m,
and will end at 3:06, which is six minutes later than our current release
time.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We will be providing more
information as the details unfold. </FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"

students made poor choices during unsupervised time when school is not in

just “don’t feel right.”</FONT></LI>

face="Times New Roman" size=3>Entertain your son/daughter’s friends at your
home after communicating with the friends’ parents.</FONT></LI></UL>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3> </FONT></o:p><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">More and
more students receive cell phones as gifts.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We certainly view cell phones as an
important communication tool for families, even though they are not allowed in
school during the school day.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We
recommend “basic” cell phones for junior high school age students.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Phones with cameras and other peripheral
features just aren’t needed.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>From
time to time, cell phones are also stolen, and it is much easier to replace a
basic phone than one with lots of bells and whistles.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I hope this paragraph saved you a
little money on your next cell phone purchase.<SPAN
