class=448535500-29022008>probably </SPAN>heard that we had a moose on our campus
this afternoon shortly before the end of the school day. We were contacted
by the Moscow Police Department of the situation and they asked us to not
release students because of the unsafe situation.<SPAN
class=448535500-29022008> Since all of our students in the district
use the same bus system, our administration had</SPAN></FONT></FONT><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT size=3><SPAN class=448535500-29022008> to
delay the release of all schools within the district.</P>

size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman"> <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT size=3>Meantime, many parents were arriving to
pick up students and we<SPAN class=448535500-29022008> stationed staff in the
parking lots to</SPAN> relay information <SPAN
class=448535500-29022008>about the delay </SPAN>as they entered. Our
students were not cleared to leave the building until approximately <st1:time
Hour="15" Minute="15">3:15</st1:time>. <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman"> <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>We would like to thank everyone who had to wait until the area
was deemed safe by the Moscow Police Department. We appreciate the
patience and understanding that parents, teachers, and students showed while the
intruder was escorted out of the area. </FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3> </FONT></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT size=3>This incident provides a good
opportunity for all of us to educate our kids about the potential
dangers posed by moose. We have had several reports that there
are two or three of these young moose in<SPAN class=448535500-29022008> the
immediate area</SPAN> right now, and it is important give them their
space. </FONT></FONT></P>
