there are six days of school until the break. Our last day of school<SPAN

21.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Students<SPAN
class=102281223-13122007> will</SPAN> return to school after the break on
<st1:date Month="1" Day="7" Year="2008">Monday, January 7, 2008</st1:date>.<SPAN

17, which gives students only 9 days of class after the break to finish up
projects and turn in any missing/late assignments. <SPAN

receive cell phones as gifts.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We
certainly view cell phones as an important communication tool for families, even
though they are not allowed in the classroom.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We recommend “basic” cell phones for
junior high school age students.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Phones with cameras, text messaging, and other peripheral features just
aren’t needed<SPAN class=102281223-13122007>, and can sometimes cause serious
disciplinary problems in the school setting</SPAN>.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>From time to time, cell phones are also
stolen, and it is much easier to replace a basic phone than one with lots of
bells and whistles. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN><SPAN

adolescence through the eyes of teens and their parents. The film takes viewers
into the private worlds kids are creating online -- from kids who are harassed

lang=EN>connections virtually when they have few friends at school, to those
kids who attain instant celebrity on YouTube. FRONTLINE explores the complicated
new lines being drawn between the real and virtual worlds for today's children

Council attended a Leadership Retreat with 60 other students from area

in team building activities and also gained information about WeTip, our
anonymous crime tipline.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN><SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Our student leaders will provide
information <SPAN class=102281223-13122007>for</SPAN> the MHJS student body
to show them how to report unsafe and/or criminal situations in our school and
community. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Established in 1972, the
hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Callers to WeTip are totally anonymous, not just confidential. <SPAN

students have used this service for over ten years to help us solve issues
before they became dangerous for our school and our community.<SPAN
