size=3>This morning we had the responsibility to inform our students about the
death of a former MJHS and MHS student.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>The student was known by many of our students and staff.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Our staff members were notified
yesterday immediately after school, and students were notified early this
morning.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN><SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The student’s name was Forrest
Blakesley.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>His Father, Glenn
Blakesley, has been a well-known substitute teacher in our building and
district.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3> </FONT></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman">We stressed the importance of being sensitive to the
feelings of fellow students and teachers who may have had a close personal
relationship with the family.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Counselors and our District “Crisis Team” were available to talk with
students and staff in the <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Counseling</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType>Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> as needed. <SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>MJHS has always been known for its
support of others, especially in times of personal loss.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This incident, like others in the past,
was handled in a very supportive and caring fashion.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>

size=3>We have learned that the funeral will be held at the Church of the
Nazarene this coming Tuesday at <st1:time Hour="10" Minute="0">10:00
am</st1:time>.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>If you want your son
or daughter to attend the funeral, we strongly recommend that you, the parent,
attend with them.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>If you and your
son or daughter plan to attend, please contact the school ahead of time to let
us know when you will be picking up your child.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Students will not be released from
school to anyone except the parent.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In issues such as this, the
school takes safety considerations very seriously, and we value your
understanding of our responsibilities to all of the students in the MJHS
community.</FONT></P>
