you for your patience and support during the first few days of the 2007-08
school year.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Some students have
endured schedule changes in an effort to place them in smaller classes to ensure
success throughout their day. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Other
students are happily rolling through the hallways like they never left last
spring.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Our new seventh graders are
already used to the routine of getting themselves through the hallways.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>It was a great opening and we are proud
of our staff for all of the work they’ve done in an effort to help students
adjust.</FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman">Our annual “Back To School Night” is set for this
Thursday, September, 6 at <st1:time Hour="19" Minute="0">7:00
p.m.</st1:time><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Parents will meet
in the Fieldhouse for a brief orientation.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Following the orientation, they will follow their child’s schedule in ten
minute increments to learn about curriculum and meet the teachers.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Students will be bringing home a
timeline with more information tomorrow (Wednesday) after school. <SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Please ask if they don’t automatically
hand it to you. </FONT><SPAN

during classes throughout the day.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Picture packets will be coming home tomorrow.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The packets should be returned Friday
morning with a check to cover the cost if you would like to purchase any of the
packages offered by our photo vendor.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>All students will have photos taken even if they do not purchase a
packet.</FONT></P>

size=3>Last year we opened up the new “Parent Portal”.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This Internet feature allows parents to
keep tabs on academic progress, attendance, lunch balance, and other school
information.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>The information is available 24/7 via the World Wide Web, and has been an
outstanding addition to our parent communication package.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>You will receive your confidential
parent password and instruction kits during “Back To School Night” in your
English class.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3> </FONT></o:p></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>Even though you have anytime access to the “Parent Portal”, teachers will
update on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We plan to open the portal after school
on Tuesday, September 11<SUP>th </SUP>, after teachers have an opportunity to
enter some grades and learn how to operate the system.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We have 13 new staff members at MJHS
this year and we are pedaling as fast as we can to get them up to speed on this
new software.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We appreciate your
patience as we make this system as stable as possible.</FONT></P>

it might be a little early, and sometimes it might be a little late, based on
the number of activities and timely information to help you plan ahead.<SPAN

one of our strongest foundations to assist students in their success, and I am
dedicated to helping families and students as they progress through this stage
of their education.</FONT></P>
