participated in a building <SPAN class=917544718-07122006>Safety
D</SPAN>rill<SPAN class=917544718-07122006> that consisted of locking down the
building, and then evacuating all classrooms</SPAN>. <SPAN
class=917544718-07122006> </SPAN>We were on our homeroom time schedule and let
students and teachers know about the drill, in advance. After we locked all
rooms down, we utilized our <SPAN class=917544718-07122006>intercom
system,</SPAN> and directed clusters of rooms to evacuate to <SPAN
class=917544718-07122006>a </SPAN>designated area<SPAN class=917544718-07122006>
until the building was empty</SPAN>. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=Blockquote style="MARGIN: 5pt 0.25in"><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'"><FONT size=3>From all accounts, our
students followed instructions and moved calmly to the new location. Our office
staff, <SPAN class=917544718-07122006>teaching staff, and our </SPAN>Moscow
P<SPAN class=917544718-07122006>olice Department</SPAN> observers were
impressed with the responsiveness of students and staff. <SPAN
class=917544718-07122006> </SPAN>Once we had all students accounted for, we had
everyone return to class to resume the rest of the day's
schedule.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=Blockquote style="MARGIN: 5pt 0.25in"><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'"><FONT size=3>As you might visit with your
son or daughter over the day's drill, we would be interested in hearing about
any significant concerns and/or suggestions from the students' point of
view. <SPAN class=917544718-07122006> </SPAN>We've also asked for their
input through a special bulletin, which was read following the drill. I have
asked staff members to provide their comments<SPAN class=917544718-07122006>
</SPAN>also, so our protocol can be as smooth as possible. </FONT></SPAN></P>
