Sept. 21, 2009

Dear Parents,

The fair has come and gone, I saw frost on many rooftops this morning,
and it is definitely starting to feel like fall. Along with the cooler
weather, students begin wearing jackets, coats, and sweatshirts that
sometimes get left at school. Our "Lost and Found" closet will begin to
collect those items soon and we need your help. Please take a minute
and help your son or daughter with adding their name to the inside of
their coats with a permanent marker of some sort. We are constantly
amazed at the amount of clothing that gets left at school and we would
like to connect lost items with their owners, but without identification
many items end up at a local charity.

As you know, the flu has hit MJHS. Our PST did a very nice job of
advertising that we are in need of boxes of Kleenex and hand sanitizer.
If you would still like to donate, please drop off whatever you can in
the school office.

Sports and other activities are in full swing from the 7th grade all the
way to the varsity level. Students need to have money or their ASB
cards to attend most Moscow School District athletic events. Once they
are in the event, we ask that students sit in the bleachers and support
our teams. Students who misbehave or otherwise disrupt the event will
be asked to leave the campus. Please remind your son or daughter to be
positive and well-behaved while supporting their friends and school
teams.

An exciting opportunity is coming to Moscow! UNSTOPPABLE! Is an award
winning evening program for parents and their junior high and high
school age students. Free dinner, great door prizes and an energetic,
award winning nationally recognized speaker are all yours next week on
Tuesday evening, September 29 at Moscow High School.

Craig Conrad will conclude his day long visit to Moscow High School by
presenting an evening program for parents and their junior high and high
school age students. Mr. Conrad will present strategies and stories to
motivate our kids to "Refuse to be Average - Choose to be Unstoppable".
The evening presentation will be preceded by a FREE dinner, catered by
Mo Bandy's BBQ. Many door prizes, including gift certificates to local
businesses and copies of Mr. Conrad's books will be given away during
the evening. All MHS and MJHS parents and their students are invited
and encouraged to attend. Students who plan to attend with their
parents should check with their teachers about receiving extra credit or
activity points.

Dinner will be served in the MHS cafeteria and Commons from 6:15 - 6:45,
and Mr. Conrad's presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Although the
evening program is free, we do ask that if possible you pick up tickets
at either the MJHS or MHS Office no later than Monday, September 28 by
the end of the school day. This will help us plan for food. Tickets
will also be available at the door.

Mr. Conrad's visit to Moscow is being sponsored by the Latah County
Youth Advocacy Council, the Moscow School District Safe and Drug-Free
Schools Program and the Parent Support Teams from both Moscow High
School and Moscow Junior High School.
