Hi Parents!

The next meeting of the Moscow Junior High PST will take place on Tuesday,
May 5 at 7:15 am in room 216. We'd love to see you there! The minutes from
our April meeting are reprinted at the bottom of this email (thanks to Karen
Jennings for taking great minutes all year!).

Here is note from Aleisa Barber, who has done a terrific job coordinating
this year's teacher appreciation events:

Dear Parents,

Next week, May 4th - 8th, is Staff Appreciation Week at the Junior High. We
hope you and your child will join with the Parent Support Team in thanking
all the wonderful people who work at MJHS! It really takes a lot of people
to make a great school and our children come in contact with many caring
people every day! We are planning a few little surprises, but the main
things will be treats in the work room and notes from parents and students.

Treat Days
We are planning a couple of special days for the staff next week and we are
hoping you will participate by sending in treats or other items on Tuesday,
May 5th or Thursday, May 7th. Since there are approximately 80 staff
members, we will need a lot of different items for both days. If you would
be willing to contribute something, please e-mail me aleisa at turbonet.com or
call me at 882-4434 to let me know what you would like to bring so I can be
sure we will have enough food. We plan to set up in the morning around
8:00am and will leave the items out for the staff to enjoy during their
planning or lunch times. Some suggested items are listed below, but feel
free to come up with other items as the staff likes everything. We are in
need of some store bought items as well, so if you don't have time to bake,
perhaps you would be willing to send a store bought item.

Possible donations:
meat/cheese trays
mini sandwiches
salads: green salads, pasta salads, taco salads, other salads
baked goods: cookies, bars, brownies, cakes, etc.
fruit trays
veggie trays with dip (The staff really likes veggies.)- Store bought is
fine.
snack items: chips, salsa, crackers and cheese, etc.
drinks: cans of soda, bottled water
paper goods: napkins, plastic silverware
balloon bouquet with thank you balloons for a center piece

You may bring your items to the teacher work room when you drop off your
child in the morning on May 5th or May 7th or you may bring them later in
the day to help replenish our table. To get to the workroom, go in the front
door, turn left, go around the first corner you come to on the right side of
the hall and enter the work room. Please use disposable plates or be sure to
write your name and phone number on any containers. Feel free to include a
small note or card with your name on it if you want to let the teachers know
you provided the item.

Thank You Cards/Notes
We thought it would be nice to have some cards/notes for the staff to read
throughout the week. Please consider writing and/or having your MJHS student
write a note letting the staff know something you appreciate about the
junior high. We will put the notes out for everyone to read next week. I
will place an envelope in the office so you can have your student drop off
the notes in the office or if you prefer, you can e-mail your note to me and
I will print it and take over to the school next week.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to our Staff Appreciation days this
year! I wish I could tell you how much it means to the staff when we have
our special appreciation days. They really, really appreciate all the
thought and effort everyone puts into the things they send to school! If you
have any questions, please feel free to call or e-mail me.
