Karen, thank you for your comments, we agree wholeheartedly.  

We disagree with the suggestion that such comments are somehow outside 
the purpose of the listserv, however (and by whomever) that purpose might 
be defined.  Listservs are information conduits, and hopefully this one 
isn't seen only as a one-way flow from administration to a mute 
audience.  The other possible venues that Peggy mentioned certainly would 
have their purpose, but not much visibility to the rest of us.  Karen, 
thanks again for hopefully initiating a dialogue.
