[Mjhsteam] Principal's Letter 9-3-08

Dear Parents, 
 
We are up and running!  It seemed to be a very smooth start here at
school.  We hope that your son or daughter is excited about the new
school year with their new teachers and school surroundings.  There are
two events coming up this week that are important to remember and this
letter is to remind you of these activities.
 
Our Back-To-School night happens this Thursday.  We will convene in the
Field House at 7:00 p.m. for a ten minute introduction of staff, and
then adjourn so that you may follow your child's schedule, meet
teachers, and learn the content and expectations of each class.
Students received an informational letter with a blank schedule today.
Your son or daughter should fill out the schedule so that it matches
their school day and give it to you so you can navigate through the
schedule during the evening.  We will have refreshments during your
"lunch break" and we hope you can join us for this important evening.
The last class dismisses at 9:05 p.m., and the event is for parents
only.  We hope students stay home so they can complete all of their
homework and be ready for their next school day.
 
This Friday, we will be photographing all students for school records
during our school photo day.  Students will be bringing a photo
information packet home today with additional information.  If you are
interested in buying any of the packages, please send it back with a
check for the amount on the packet.   
 
Our regular monthly Parent Support Team meeting took place this morning.
I would like to thank the parents who attended and invite others who
would like to participate and support our many school efforts this year.
The next meeting is Tuesday, October 7 at 7:15 a.m. The group has
already been very busy with a complete remodel of our Staff Lounge.
Painting, new cabinets, multiple whiteboards, and new seating are just
part of the updates that we received.  It looks great and our teachers
are very appreciative of the work that was done.  On behalf of our
staff, we say "Thank you!"
