Dear Parents, 

 

As always, things are busy at MJHS.  We have already started to prepare
for the 2008-09 school year with registrations at all class levels.  The
Ninth Grade students have their materials and you should be reviewing
their course requests for their upcoming Sophomore year at Moscow High
School.

 

Our Eighth to Ninth Grade registration process begins this next Monday
night.  All Eighth Grade parents are invited to an orientation meeting
to be held at the MJHS Multi-Purpose Room this coming Monday, March
24th, at 7:00 p.m.  At this meeting, we will begin the registration
process for next year.  Important four-year high school planning
materials will be reviewed and you will have the opportunity to learn
about the many opportunities that will be available in the ninth grade
year and beyond.  Please plan to attend.

 

Seventh Grade students will also begin their registration process for
Eighth Grade in the next few weeks.  Materials will be distributed in
classes and you will be involved in the selection of courses that your
son or daughter may request.

 

The quarter is rapidly drawing to a close.  The last day of the third
quarter is Thursday, April 3rd.  April 4th is a teacher work day, which
gives students the last day off before the final stretch of the year.
We hope you have been using the online PowerSchool academic progress
reporting system.  We've had a lot of very positive responses from
parents who use PowerSchool and our students also use it to keep track
of their progress.

 

The Ninth Grade Spring Dance is just around the corner.  This event is
held on Friday, April 4th from 7:00 until 10:00 p.m., in the MJHS
Multi-Purpose Room.  Attire is dress-up, but not formal.  MJHS does not
endorse tuxedo and formal rentals, limo rentals, or other activities
such as expensive dinners that are inappropriate at this age level.
Students may invite one guest to the dance, and permission slips are
available at the office.  Parents must sign the permission slip and the
guest must be of school age and pre-approved by the school
administration before March 30. 

 

Even though it feels like spring, the streets and sidewalks have been
pretty icy.  Please caution your son or daughter to watch for traffic
that may not be able to stop.  Our students are watchful, but our
reminders will help keep them safe.

 

Many of you had the opportunity to participate in a survey about our
school programs.  We appreciate the time that you took to give us your
opinions.  If you were not able to complete the survey and would like to
participate, please contact me soon.
