MHS principal Bob Celebrezze asked me to forward this to the Jr. High
parents.

This current school year, Moscow School District has been forced to cut
$400,000 out of the operating budget. This has had dramatic negative
ramifications to the students of Moscow School District. At Moscow High
School, this cut has increased classroom sizes to 25-32 students per
class when we are used to low class sizes of around 20 students.

Due to a ballot flaw, the district must re-run the levy increase that
passed in March, an increase of $1.97 million to the existing $5.646
million levy. If this levy increase does not pass, an additional $1.5
million will be carved out of the operating budget. Programs such as
Professional Technical, Band, Choir, Academic Competition, Drama,
Athletic Programs, Gifted and Talented, Art and other electives would
likely be eliminated. In short, the failure of this levy would harm all
children in this district. The at-risk student would lose all
advantages for assistance that they currently have available to them.
Class sizes from kindergarten through grade twelve would be staggering.
Our district, our community and our businesses would all suffer. The
foundation of a community is based first and foremost on the public
schools. Do not let the community of Moscow suffer.

Our community has an opportunity to make things right for our children.
On Tuesday, the 13^th of November from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Latah
County Fairgrounds, I urge the voters of Moscow to say yes to the levy
increase, and say yes to Moscow schools.
