Hi Everyone,
Our next parent group meeting is on Tuesday April 3rd at 7:15am in room 201.
Here are the minutes from the March meeting.
Moscow Jr. High Parent Support Team (PST) Meeting
March 6, 2007
 
In Attendance: 
Susan Mahoney, Faye Nagler, Mary Jo VonGerpen, Joni Porter, Lisa Morris, Carolyn Birmingham, Mr. Kleinert, and Mr. Segota.
 
VP Report – Mr. Kleinert for Mr. Hill:
·        The ninth grade dance will be held Friday – April 5, parent coordinator is Erin McCall.
·        Penny drive was a major success (over $3500), surpassing last years amount - suggestions were discussed on improving/simplifying the counting and rolling of coins.
 
***Shoes to fill:
Seeking a new parent group president and secretary for next year.  Please consider helping!
 
Box Tops:
Over $200 was raised from this years Box Top collection. Parents are warned that in the future Box Tops will require the UPS barcode be included with the Box Top label, so please snip them together.
 
 Principal’s report - Mr. Kleinert:
·        Calendar for March was presented – highlights include:
March 5, 6:30pm  – wresting awards
March 6, 6:30 – Track player/parent meeting
March 21, 7:00pm – 10th grade orientation
March 22/23 – 10th grade registration
March 26, 7:00pm – 8th grade parent night
March 26, 8:25pm – 9th grade orientation
March 27 – school district levy
·        The talent show on March 2 was a huge success with many impressive performances.
·        The new Parent Portal has been accessed by 45% of families.  A Parent Portal How-to Meeting will be held Thursday, April 19 to assist parents in getting the most out of the system. One session will be from 6:00 to 6:30, the second from 7:00-7:30. Refreshments and a casual question time will be offered between session.
·        A parent support group for families with IEP/504 students was discussed.
Superintendents report – Lisa Morris
·        Moscow School district SAT’s are above average
·        Computers for kids (which collects and distributes refurbished computers to kids) has a new email address – superkidcomputer at cs.com
·        There were suggested improvements from various groups to the “No child left behind” legislation.
