Dear Parents,
The first semester is rapidly ending. We have four days left, and most
students will be taking finals during their classes this week. I've
attached the finals schedule at the bottom of this letter so you can
help organize home study sessions. As always, please make sure your son
or daughter gets enough sleep and nourishment to ensure success.
Every once in a while I open the mail and get a pleasant surprise. One
of the envelopes looked like an advertisement, but inside was a check
from Verizon for $84.00. This donation comes from Verizon subscribers
who have indicated that they would like 5% of their long distance phone
bill allocated to their school of choice. Thank you!
There are other local businesses that have programs similar to Verizon,
and we appreciate the support through the businesses that identify our
schools. We want you to know that every little bit helps. We plan to
use this donation to help offset our effort to buy new curtains for the
stage in the Multi-Purpose Room. The curtains are original 1959
vintage, and are rapidly deteriorating.
The MJHS Parent Support Team has always focused on communication efforts
through the Listserve, the new Student/Parent Directory, and other
means. The newest donation to the school helped us buy a pair of
networked, indoor Reader Boards for students. Their donation, along
with a grant that retired teacher, Mike Peterson received from Wal-Mart,
enables us to communicate important information to students throughout
the day without interrupting the classroom. We would like to thank the
MJHS team and Wal-Mart for their support.
Students will receive their second semester schedules this Thursday
during lunches, and the new semester begins on Monday, January 29.
Teachers will record final grades, and Report Cards will be sent home
late next week. You will also receive more school information in the
"Cub Communicator" newsletter with the Report Cards.
Until then, stay warm and safe! As always, please contact any of us if
you have questions, comments, or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dale Kleinert, Principal
Moscow Junior High School
