Dear Parents:

The end of the school year is quickly approaching and we need to close =
out the meal accounts. Please pay all charges accrued.  If a child needs =
to charge they will be asked to give parents a call from school unless =
other arrangements have been made.

=20

Any credit left on student's accounts at the end of the year will be =
automatically carried over to the next year.  If your child is a sixth =
grader, their credits will be transferred to a younger sibling or will =
go to their account at Moscow Junior High.  If your child is a ninth =
grader, their credits will be transferred to their account at Moscow =
High School.  If you are leaving the district, please call Mimi Pengilly =
at 892-1123 to arrange for a refund.

If your family qualifies for Free or Reduced Price meal benefits, you =
can begin next school year with that benefit; (the grace period ends =
October 1, 2006).  We will send out new applications at the beginning of =
the school year.  The Free and Reduced meal program is based on =
household size and monthly income.  This helpful program benefits the =
school in two ways: as an important source of funds for educational =
programs as well as nutrition programs.  We urge you to apply.

Join your children for lunch or breakfast and see how school meals have =
changed.  We ask that parents call the school by 9 AM to make a =
reservation for lunch.  The lunch price for adults is $3.00. =20

Our goal is to keep meal prices reasonably priced for the 2006-2007 =
school year.  School Meals are high quality meals for the lowest prices =
in town.  They are based on current nutrient guidelines for growing =
children, fall below 30% calories from fat yet supply necessary =
nutrients.  The menus planned provide a balance between the nutrition =
needs and the taste preferences of students.  We offer choices of =
entr=E9es at all grade levels and chocolate or white 1% milk is served. =
If your child has a diet-related condition such as food allergy, please =
call 892-1123 to arrange for a menu substitution.  Moscow School =
District has a Registered Dietitian on staff to insure that meals are =
healthy and safe for all students.   =20

I wish to take this opportunity to publicly thank the Student Nutrition =
Staff for all of the hard work that they do for the students of the =
district. They are to be commended for providing healthy meals and =
maintaining positive attitudes that make learning possible.=20
