First of all, on behalf of the staff at MJHS, I would like to thank the
MJHS Parent Support Team for bringing breakfast for our staff this
morning.  We had multiple breakfast casseroles, fruit, breads, juice,
and coffee.  It was fantastic!  We not only enjoy the food, but also
appreciate the time together with staff and the parents who organize and
serve the meal.  Our staff is so appreciative of what the Team does for
us.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The MJHS Team has also begun another round of MJHS Cub T-Shirt sales.
Your son/daughter was given a flier last week that provided additional
information. These have been very popular. This time the choices
include T-shirts and "Hoodies". Wednesday, February 22, is the deadline
for ordering. If you need more information, please contact Susan

Seventh grade progress reports were sent out Tuesday, Feb. 14, and you
should be receiving them soon.  Eighth grade progress reports and Ninth
grade deficiency reports will go out on February, 28.

The Winter All-School Dance is this Thursday, Feb. 16 from 7:00-10:00
p.m. at the MJHS Multi-Purpose Room.  The dance is for MJHS students
only, and the admission is $3.00.  Students who leave the dance are not
able to return, and they must arrive before 9:00 p.m., to enter.  If
you'd like to be a chaperone, please contact Assistant Principal Kevin
Hill, at MJHS. =20

Students will not have school this coming Friday, February 17, and
Monday, February 20, which is President's Day.  Teachers will be in
session both days receiving training and updating curriculum.  We
believe that the teacher training sessions benefit students directly,
and these upcoming days are no exception.  The office will not be open
on Monday, February 20th. =20

This next week is "Jazz Festival" week.  It is a very busy week as
always.  Wednesday, February 20, is Junior High day.   Our performance
schedule follows: =20

In addition, our building will be used as a performance site next
Saturday, and groups will also be sleeping and rehearsing in our
facilities throughout the week.

Spring break is rapidly approaching.  I know that students already have
a countdown started.  We don't recommend starting spring break early, or
extending the break.  If you have no choice, please contact your child's
teachers as soon as possible to arrange a way to turn in assignments,
projects, and take any exams.  Many teachers will be winding up units
right before spring break.  Please remember to contact our 24-hour
attendance line at 892-1177 if your child will be absent for any reason.
