The committee will meet from 7:00pm - 9:00pm every other Monday evening this fall to identity, determine cost estimates and prioritize essential and necessary facilities needs within the district. This will include things like life safety, ADA, HVAC and other mechanical systems, minor remodels, and minor additions. Superintendent Candis Donicht has requested that each school in the district have one parent representative on the committee. Dear Parents,
MJHS is off to a great start.
Our opening days were productive, positive, and exciting. Each year it is a thrill to =
watch our
students enter the hallways for the first time.
I’m sure that the energy could heat =
We hope that you had the opportunity to =
attend
“Back To School Night” this last
Thursday. We saw a lot of =
you, and hope
that you enjoyed the evening. =
Please let
us know if there are ways that we can make the evening more productive =
for you.
We are in the final stages of scheduling the =
fall
“Idaho Standards and Achievement Tests”. We will begin the testing =
session on
September 19. Students =
will take a =
Progress report dates are coming up. All 7th and =
8th grade
students will receive progress reports during the week of September =
27th. 9th grade students =
who are achieving
less than a “C” grade will have progress reports sent out =
during
the same timeframe. Feel =
free to contact
your child’s teachers at the school for additional =
information.
If you need to have additional contact with =
your
child’s teachers, a request for a weekly progress report can be =
made
through the counselor. =
When the request
is made, the counselor develops a blank set of progress reports (usually =
nine
weeks worth) to be sent to the parent.
The parent then gives a blank progress report to the child each =
Tuesday
morning before leaving for school. The
child then brings the report to each of his or her teachers who may =
attach a
printed report or write on the blank progress report. The child then returns the =
completed report
to the parent at the end of the day.
For those of you that are looking for home =
study tips,
there are several websites available for parents and families. I placed two on the last =
letter, and here two
more. www.bhg.com
and www.ncela.gwu.edu
I hope
you’ve found the information included in this letter to be =
useful. Please feel free to contact me =
at any time
for additional information. =
I’ve
included some upcoming school calendar information that will be useful =
for you.
Sincerely,
Dale Kleinert

This has been a very productive and positive start to our school
year. We have noticed that =
students
are working hard to do their best in all academic areas. We hope that your child has =
been
bringing homework and material to study at home almost every night. The Student Agenda/Handbook =
states that
students should expect to work for one and one-half hours, five nights =
each
week in order to do their best.
The Student =
Agenda/Planner
is provided to all students at the beginning of the year. Students are expected to write =
down
assignments in the Agenda, and many parents use the agenda to help and =
support
projects and homework that has been assigned. If your child has nothing =
written in the
Agenda, it would be a good idea to make contact with the classroom =
teachers to
find out if work has been completed.
This letter also brings you information about upcoming =
mid-quarter
progress reports. All =
seventh and
eighth grade parents will be receiving progress reports this week. Ninth grade parents will be =
receiving a
progress/deficiency report this week if the student is receiving a grade =
of
“C” or lower in any particular class. You should receive reports by =
Friday,
September29, in the mail.
If you’ve been in the MJHS parking lot during the school =
day this
year, you’ve noticed that the traffic lane closest to the building =
is
closed to all vehicles except buses.
We anticipated that this closure would help with student safety, =
and we
have experienced a lot less congestion in a very busy area, especially =
before
and after school. If you =
have a
blue “handicap” tag on your vehicle, please feel free to use =
the
handicap parking area in the closed zone.
Many after-school activities and athletic events occur on our =
campus
each day. Students that =
attend
after school events have been advised that the guidelines set forth in =
the
student handbook are in effect for all school activities. The supervisors have the =
expectation
that students will show positive school spirit and support our =
teams. Students attending activity =
events are
expected to remain on site, watching the event, until the event is
completed. Once they =
leave, they
are not allowed to re-enter.
This coming October 5, 6, and 7, are teacher in-service days, =
and no
school will be held for students district-wide. These days are very important =
for our
staff to have the chance to receive training, and have opportunities to
research skills that are necessary in the =
classroom.
As I’ve stated in this letter, this has been a very =
positive
start to the school year. =
We hope
that you are experiencing the same positive vibes in your home. Please let us know how we can =
help you
in an effort to provide the best communication possible.
Until next time, take care and enjoy these beautiful fall =
days.
Sincerely,
Dale Kleinert
Principal
