[RPPTL ISC] Today's Insurance and Surety Meeting - 12pm

Debbie, Adele, Anne and all,

I joined this committee because it is the first Florida Bar committee I have seen that has taken steps to get an Insurance Coverage Board Certification, and I was pleasantly surprised to see some familiar faces on today’s Zoom, the second meeting of this Committee that I have attended so far.  In fact, this is the only Committee in the Florida Bar, so far as I have seen, that has focused on insurance in any way.

Chip Merlin is an excellent choice to address the potential issues that should be part of a Flood Insurance Claims CLE.  In fact, in my judgment, he should lead the panel.  His reputation precedes him, as they say, and in his case, deservedly so.  In all the cases I have been involved with or am otherwise aware of, Chip is the advocate that stands out above all others.

I would suggest Mark Boyle for this panel as well.  I realize from today’s meeting that Mark is the Committee’s Legislative Liaison for sure now, but if he is available and has the time he too would be a good choice to present about these issues.

Thanks for your consideration.  I look forward to the next meeting of this Committee.  Parenthetically, since the meetings are on Zoom, it is possible for me to attend them!
