[RPPTL ISC] Recap: Today's Meeting

Hello ISC Members! Here is a quick recap of today’s membership meeting.

  1.  I sent today’s meeting reminder to an incorrect email list, but I did not realize it until 12pm (Thanks to Howard). Once I realized, I sent it to the correct membership list, though just after 12pm. I apologize.

  1.  ISC needs your help! ISC has openings for:
     *   Legislative Liaison
     *   Publications/ActionLine Liaison
     *   CLE Chair
     *   Website Admin.
     *   If you have a few hours a month to spare, please contact Adele (Adele.Stone at bipc.com<mailto:Adele.Stone at bipc.com>) and Anne (APollack at fflegal.com<mailto:APollack at fflegal.com>) to volunteer!

  1.  CLE Committee – Report by Adele Stone. ISC is looking for CLE presenters! If you’d like to present on these CLE 3 topics, have potential speakers in mind, or have interest on any other CLE topic, contact Adele and Anne.

     *   Possible Topic #1: Insurance Considerations for Real Estate Development / Vacant Land
        *   Speaker Panel: Insurance Professional, Transactional Atty, Litigation Atty
        *   In search of inhouse or developer – risk management type person to be on the panel.
           *   At the upcoming November 9-11 Executive Committee Meeting (Tampa), Anne, Adele, and Debbie will visit with Land Use and Development committee and others to pitch this CLE topic and to find possible speakers.

     *   Possible Topic #2: No, It’s Not Boilerplate! Insurance Considerations in Real Estate Transactions – Sales Agreements and Leases

     *   Possible Topic #3: E&O and D&O – What’s Covered? What’s Excluded? Who Needs Them? How Do They Work?
        *   Adele to reach out to Deborah Mastin who pitched this suggested topic to ISC.

  1.  Insurance Coverage Law Board Certification - Report by Debbie Crockett
     *   E-Petition GOAL: 250. Current Number = 236! Just copy and paste this link to circulate: FL Bar Ins Cov Board Cert E-Petition Link<https://forms.gle/Eo7jt7mzqS1vGYZ99>
     *   Finalizing and Submitting Application GOAL: December 15
     *   Debbie has reached outs to the 7 FL Bar Substantive Law Committees
        *   She is talking with ADR Committee this Saturday.
     *   Debbie will send detailed info to Business Law Section (BLS). Per Anne, no objections or concerns from BLS.
     *   Reed Grimm – He spoke with 4th Cir BOGs, and both have indicated support, but one had question about the status of the application, which was shared, and Reed will report back to him.

  1.  Membership - Report by Anne Pollock
     *   ISC will be reaching out to those who are on the listserve but who are not current RPPTL members – to have them renew their RPPTL membership so they can stay on the listserve.
     *   At the upcoming November 9-11 Executive Committee Meeting (Tampa), Anne, Adele and Debbie will visit with other committees about joining ISC.
