[RPPTL ISC] Recap: Today & Ins Cov Board Cert

Hello ISC Members! Here is a quick recap of today’s membership meeting.

  1.  ISC needs your help! Please contact me to find out more.
     *   Legislative Liaison to RPPTL’s Legislative Committee: Duties include: Attending RPPTL’s Legislative Committee’s Zoom meetings, reporting back to ISC as well as provide any comments/concerns expressed by ISC members to RPPTL

     *   Publications / Actionline Liaison to RPPTL: Duties include: Soliciting articles/writers, coordinating with writers for submission for Actionline

     *   CLE Chair (assist with finding speakers and topics) and Liaison to RPPTL’s CLE Committee: Duties include: Soliciting speakers, coordinating with speakers and other group for collaboration on CLE presentations, etc. Liaison to RPPTL’s CLE Committee.

  1.  Insurance Coverage Law Board Certification - Report by Debbie Crockett
     *   E-Petition GOAL: 250. Current Number = 225! Just copy and paste to circulate it --> FL Bar Ins Cov Board Cert E-Petition Link<https://forms.gle/Eo7jt7mzqS1vGYZ99>
     *   Submitting Application GOAL: December 15
     *   I am working on reaching out to the seven FL Bar Substantive Law Committees (I thought we had to reach out to ALL FL Bar Committees, but I double checked the application, and it only asks about having reached out to the Substantive Law Committees. So, I can handle that).
     *   Below is the list of letters of support/no objection obtained, and I am waiting on City, Co, Local Gov’t Section’s and RPPTL’s letter of support. Also, there are a handful of other sections with whom I am meeting in the coming months.

  1.  New Business/Topics
     *   Insurance Matters! Newsletter – On temporary hold
     *   Expanding and growing membership – Pitching during next RPPTL RP Roundtable during the November meeting

  1.  CLE Ideas/Suggestions
     *   Want to present a CLE? Have a great idea for one? Knowledgeable about any of the possible CLE topics listed? Let Adele (Adele.Stone at bipc.com<mailto:Adele.Stone at bipc.com>) and Anne (APollack at fflegal.com<mailto:APollack at fflegal.com>) know!
     *   Program for entire RPPTL and just for ISC – may be both
     *   Collaboration with RPPTL RE committees?
     *   Possible Topic: Insurance Considerations for Real Estate Development / Vacant Land
              *   Speaker Panel: Insurance Professional, Transactional Atty, Litigation Atty
     *   Possible Topic: No, It’s Not Boilerplate! Insurance Considerations in Real Estate Transactions – Sales Agreements and Leases
     *   Possible Topic: E&O and D&O – What’s Covered? What’s Excluded? Who Needs Them? How Do They Work?
     *   Next CLE could be ready for November 9 or 10 (for the RPPTL EC Meeting in Tampa)
