[RPPTL ISC] SB 2-A / HB 1-A

BREAKING NEWS to ISC Members!
As many of may know, another special session of the Florida Legislature starts on Monday. I have attached SB 2-A (with some highlighting) that was just introduced today at 5:49PM. Its companion, HB 1-A, was filed at 5:53PM today. Among many other things, these bills eliminate prevailing party attorney’s fees in all property insurance litigation, gives the carriers the right to make a valid joint proposal for settlement to policyholders, eliminates post-loss AOBs, and allows policyholders to elect to mandatory binding arbitration with carriers in exchange for a premium discount.

Of course there are varying opinions about these changes, about AOBs, and about Florida’s “insurance crisis”, but without adding my own commentary (which I will save for the editorial page), I am reporting “just the facts.” Links to the Senate and House webpages are below.
