[Liability Insurance] RPPTL (Virtual) Annual Convention Meetings and Executive Council Meeting

Folks,
I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend amidst these difficult times. I wanted to give everyone in the Committee a friendly reminder about the RPPTL Section's Annual Convention, which is being held virtually this year via zoom. The Executive Council Meeting will be held on Friday, May 29th, beginning at 11:30 a.m. (Eastern). Below is a snippet from the Section's Chair, Robert Friedman's email, regarding the process and registration for the virtual meeting. Of key importance, PLEASE be sure to REGISTER in advance and via the link below. Also, attached is the Agenda for Friday's Executive Council Meeting.
Also, some may have noticed that our Committee was previously listed as holding a committee meeting for later this afternoon. However, as we just had a wonderful meeting and presentation last week, we will not be holding a meeting today. We do, however, look forward to having everyone attend our next, regularly scheduled, Committee Call, which will be on Monday, June 15, 2020, at 12 Noon (Eastern). That said, I'd also like to take this time to encourage everyone to look at the attached Virtual Meeting Schedule and consider joining the call for any of the other great committees in the Section.

1. Regarding the Executive Council Zoom meeting on Friday, May 29th beginning at 11:30 am:
a. Attached is the Agenda for the meeting. The Agenda will also be uploaded to the Section website.
b. Please be sure to read the Agenda in detail before the meeting - while we will not have any action items for approval, we have multiple information items that are being presented so that they can be considered for final approval at the Breakers.
c. The annual election will take place at the onset of the meeting, per the Notice previously published. You MUST register for the meeting by clicking here - https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_E3jqGqB-QgCA6rCZuTEAmA. After you have registered, you will receive a calendar invite with all of the necessary information for connecting to the meeting. We are required to do this to best avoid potential security breaches - please do not forward your calendar invite or the link to anyone for the same reason (we do not want any Zoom hackers!). YOU MUST REGISTER VIA THE LINK - THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO BE ABLE TO CONNECT TO THE MEETING! DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL MARY ANN OR HILARY ON THIS - TRUST THE PROCESS!
d. Please plan to connect to the meeting not later than 11:20-11:25 am so that we can start on time.
e. Mary Ann will be handling the Zoom controls for the meeting. Because it would be impossible to have a Zoom meeting with everyone visible, the only people who will be on video feed will be those who are presenting. You will be able to see the presenter (make sure that your system is set to have the current speaker in view). Everyone else will be on mute in the Zoom platform and on audio only. There may be some pauses as we transition between presenters, and perhaps technical difficulties, so please be patient.
f.We will be utilizing Zoom's "Raise Your Hand" feature to enable you to ask a question or make a comment. When Mary Ann unmutes your mic, please be sure to say who you are at the onset.
g. Please be sure to change your screen name in Zoom to be your name (i.e., not the name on your spouse's Zoom account, or your dog, or your alias, etc.).
h. As you can well imagine, given the size of the Executive Council and the number of people on the meeting, we must maintain order. For that reason, we cannot have individuals trying to speak multiple times on the same subject (which tends to happen, at times, at our typical meetings), and thus you will only be given one opportunity to speak on a particular matter.
i. Because of the differing nature of the committee meetings and the Executive Council Zoom meeting, Mary Ann and Hilary continuing to work remotely and our seemingly-constant troubleshooting of Section issues and the time involved with preparing for these meetings, we determined that we cannot properly utilize the meetings app for the committee meeting agendas and the EC agenda (all of these items will be on the Section website). We greatly appreciate the understanding of WFG National Title, our meetings app sponsor, in this regard.
j. It is also important for me to mention that we appreciate the support of Stewart Title, our Executive Council meeting sponsor.
