[Liability Insurance] Insurance and Surety Committee - CALL FOR SPEAKERS AND ARTICLES

Folks,

We need your help. As you know, the Insurance and Surety Committee has a regularly scheduled conference call, which includes a 30-45 minute CLE component, on the third Monday of each month. That means we are constantly looking for speakers and topics for those calls. As we head in to the new year, we have some good topics and speakers lined up for a few of our calls in the future, but we currently do not have anyone lined up for February (which will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 because of President's Day), March or April.

If you or someone you know has presented, or would like to present, on a particular insurance or surety topic, please let Michael, Cary, Fred or myself know. Even if you've heard someone else speak (or think someone would be a good speaker) on a particular topic that you think would be good for one of our calls, please let us know and we will follow up with them.

Additionally, if you or someone you know would like to submit an article for our committee newsletter, Insurance Matters!, please let me know. Generally, there is no real criteria for the articles - they are typically between 500-1500 words. The newsletter comes out four times a year, coinciding with the four in-state RPPTL Section Executive Council Meetings. We distribute hard copies to the executive council members at those meetings (approximately 200 copies) and also distribute electronically to our committee, the construction law committee (approximately 700 members) and other committees within the Section. The next Executive Council Meeting is scheduled for February 25-28, 2016 in Tampa, so I would need submissions by 2/17/16. That is just a little over 4 weeks from now so there's still plenty of time to get something in the next issue.

As you can imagine, either or both of these opportunities are great ways for you or one of your associates to get some good exposure within the Section (and really without a whole lot of effort).

We look forward to receiving your thoughts and ideas!

Regards,
Scott
