<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">I am not the legal scholar that you are, however, I am very practical. I advise my clients that roofers are less expensive than lawyers. I send a letter to the landlord about the problem and advise that if it is
not fixed within so many days that your client will have a roofer attend to the repairs to stop the leaking and mitigate your client’s damages. I do not advise my client to deduct this expense from the rent. It stops the legal and avoids legal expenses.<o:p></o:p></p>
