[RPPTL Leasing Committee] NAR settlement

I represent the MIAMI Association of REALTORS and I would be happy to host education for this committee (and anyone else in RPPTL) who would like a debrief on the proposed settlement that NAR announced last week.

Of course, because I represent MIAMI REALTORS, and to avoid any potential antitrust violations, I cannot make specific recommendations about the unilateral and independent business decisions that are listed in that checklist.

Great- the Miami Board of Realtors had their first educational zoom yesterday and a large part of it was, apparently, "call your lawyer for advice on how to update your forms and practice." Would be good to tell the lawyers what to tell those clients that pay attention!

Great suggestion. We have been doing updates over on the RREILs committee, but happy to do one for leasing too. We can do an update at our May meeting based on the settlement agreement terms and perhaps a summer CLE when the new MLS policies are published.

Fact is that although the National Association of Realtors settlement is related to sales commissions, it will equally apply in concept to lease commissions. I think we should consider a CLE on what we should be selling our clients.
