Tue Oct 20 10:40:28 PDT 2020

Good morning committee members! Please see Bill Hennessy's email below regarding the December Executive Council meetings in December. I hope to see you in person or virtually. The agenda will be delivered a week or so prior to the meeting. We have a final review of the Supreme Court approved lease forms which have been revised with comments from the Florida Realtors and other stakeholders so we will be reviewing these and making a final recommendation for approval. We will also be holding our meeting jointly with the Problem Study Committee who is holding a CLE on the new Florida law relating to ESA's.

Thanks.

Brenda

Subject: Registration for RPPTL December Meetings is Now Open

[Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts Open at Walt Disney World - D23]

Greetings friends!

At long last, I am excited to send along our registration email for our meetings at Disney's Yacht Club(r) from December 3-5, 2020.

Mary Ann and I have been working closely with Disney's staff to put together a fantastic, fun, and safe program. As I have indicated in prior emails, we will be proceeding in a hybrid format so as to permit both live and Zoom attendance at almost all of our committee meetings. I say almost because we have scheduled a number of our General Standing Meetings in Zoom only format. There may also be a few smaller committees which may choose to meet by phone or solely in a particular format for convenience. The bottom line is that we want to make our meetings accessible and safe for you during these crazy times. No one will be penalized in any way if they choose not to attend any meeting in-person. Quite frankly, as I have said before, if you are in a high risk category or are uncomfortable attending, we would encourage you to stay home for this meeting and join us in the future when COVID-19 is behind us.

Walt Disney World(r) is complying with the most current recommendations and guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and the Florida and Orange County Departments of Health. Walt Disney World's most current list of Health & Safety Precautions can be found on their website at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/

>From an RPPTL perspective, we plan to take the following steps to help prevent the spread of COVID:

  1. We will be requesting that all attendees at any meetings or social events affirm on the day of attendance that they meet and agree to the conditions set forth in the Attendee Health Attestation below. If you cannot affirm and attest to the information on the Attendee Health Attestation on the day of the event, you will not be permitted to attend the in-person event.

Attendee Health Attestation

To do our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19, we are restricting attendance at any of our Executive Council meetings from anyone with knowledge that they have a COVID-19 Infection or have recently been exposed to the virus. By attending any in-person meeting or seminar of the RPPTL Section, you are affirming and attesting that:

(a) You do not have a COVID-19 infection and are not currently experiencing or displaying, and have not in the last 14 days experienced or displayed, any of the following symptoms:

Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

(b) You have not in the last 14 days had any close contact with anyone who is either confirmed or suspected of being infected with COVID-19, including anyone who was experiencing or displaying any of the known symptoms of COVID-19.

(c) You have not in the last 14 days traveled from (1) areas of substantial community spreading requiring quarantine per the Florida Department of Health, or (2) traveled internationally- based on the current US State Department Level 4 travel advisory for all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19.

If you cannot affirm or attest to all of the above on the day of the event, please do not attend. We will gladly provide you with a full refund. There is a risk of COVID-19 exposure in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is highly contagious and can lead to illness and death. By attending the event, you voluntarily assume all risks related to COVID-19 exposure. Thank you for your cooperation.

  1. Face coverings will be required at all meetings and events throughout the convention area as well as while sharing transportation.

  1. Our receptions and dinners on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will all be outdoors (weather permitting) so that we are able to social distance and interact in open space.

  1. We will be checking temperatures of all attendees each morning as they enter the convention space with a digital thermometer.

  1. Our committee meeting space will be set up with social distancing in mind. Each room will be cleaned and sanitized after each meeting.

  1. The buses for group transportation to our Friday night event will be capped at 50% capacity.

Now, on to the details of the registration and happy thoughts... think Disney.... think holiday decorations... think fun!

Cathy, Mary Ann, and I have a fantastic weekend planned for you at Walt Disney World(r). After a full day of committee meetings on Thursday, we will enjoy a beachfront reception at Disney's Yacht Club(r) with food, drink, desserts, and entertainment along the waterfront. The holidays lights should be in full swing around the properties on the waterfront outside the hotel providing an idyllic setting for unwinding after a busy day. On Friday, after day two of meetings, join us on a magnificent journey to Disney's Animal Kingdom(r) Theme Park. We will enjoy delicious cuisine and a street party in the heart of Harambe Village. Afterwards, we will enjoy an after-hours trip to Pandora - the World of Avatar with private access to its beautiful scenery and an opportunity to experience Flight of Passage and the Na'vi River Journey. If you have never visited this part of the park at night, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. Saturday, after a day of unwinding following our EC meeting, we will be meeting up for dinner, dessert, and drinks on the Isle of France, nestled between the France Pavilion and picturesque World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot(r). The venue offers stunning waterfront views and an impressive backdrop of French inspired architecture and landscapes. We'll have a chance to catch a flight on Soarin' and maybe, just maybe, be able to take in a fireworks display. C'est magnifique!

We are going to be capping our in-person attendance for this meeting and our events so that we can plan appropriately for social distancing. I encourage you to get your registrations in early so that you have a slot if you are interested in coming. The last day to register will be November 25, 2020. Please do not plan to register the day of and attend meetings or events. There will be no onsite registration.

The registration information and details are as follows:

  1. Attached is the full Brochure for our weekend of events and meetings. As part of the meeting registration, you will be asked to register for either in-person or virtual attendance. That's right, we need to know if you plan to attend virtually so that we can appropriately prepare from a logistics and technology perspective. There is no charge for the virtual registration. As part of the registration, we will asking that you identify the specific committee meetings that you plan to attend. This is important because we will have space limitations for each in-person committee meeting.
  2. The link for our RPPTL registration is https://member.floridabar.org/s/lt-event?id=a1R1R000007E7a7UAC#/Overview. Remember, it is much easier if you log into the Florida Bar website before you click the registration link! We will be offering cancellations and refunds to any attendee who cannot certify to Attendee Health Attestation below on the day of the event.
  3. The hotel registration link is https://book.passkey.com/go/floridabarrpptl2020. If you plan to attend, please get your hotel reservations in without delay. Disney is permitting cancellations up to 5 days before the event.

  1. If the room block is full by the time you try to make your hotel reservation, DON'T PANIC - put your name on the waitlist, which is being monitored throughout the entire process. I expect that we will be able to get everyone who registers a room at Disney's Yacht Club(r) as long as you get your registration in early. We will be releasing rooms from the block to the hotel once we have a fairly good idea of attendance numbers. Again, this is why it is important that you not wait until the last minute if you plan to come. It is difficult for us to plan and accommodate everyone if you wait until the last minute.
  2. If you have any questions, or have issues with registering on the Bar website or with hotel reservations, you can either (1) pound your keyboard and scream at the computer, (2) email Mary Ann at mobos at floridabar.org<mailto:mobos at floridabar.org> and she will get back to you as soon as she can, or (3) call or email me.
  3. Finally, please...please....PLEASE remember--- flexibility. Mary Ann and I will do our best to accommodate everyone in this crazy year.

See you real soon!

 Bill Hennessey
