Dear Rick and Real Estate Leasing Committee Members
Thank you for swiftly taking up the call to institute this program, the first set in what promises to be a successful series of seminars. You know that it is very rewarding when a fellow attorney requests your advice, especially concerning their practices. Thus, we present committee members who are at the top of their “game” in their positive efforts to “give back” to the profession.
I look forward to linking in to the seminars.
Have a great weekend.

Subject: RPPTL CLE: Law for a Lawyer's Own Business
Greetings RPPTL Real Estate Leasing Committee Members,
Michael Gelfand has asked our committee to assist in a new CLE intended for lawyers leasing or purchasing space for their law practice. This will be more of a consumer-level program (as contrasted with a CLE for lawyers who routinely practice in the real estate area). Katie Lupo will be chairing this CLE, and she has prepared the attached outline of topics. The number besides each topic indicates the time allowed for the presentation on that topic (for example, the first topic - whether to purchase or lease office space - will be covered in 15 minutes). No topic requires more than 15 minutes, and many require 10 or less.
The presentation will be divided into 4 segments of 45 minutes each, with each segment presented at lunchtime. We anticipate that the first presentation will occur in mid-May. The next 3 will occur in June, July and August unless RPPTL decides to wait until after the summer.
The CLE will be presented in audio-only webinar format, where participants will hear your voice and see your outline or power point, but you will not be on camera. That format will allow each of the 23 or so topics to be covered by one or two speakers, with each speaker presenting from his or her office (in other word, the first topic could be covered by a presenter in West Palm, and the second by a presenter in Jacksonville). Our hope is that at least 23 committee members will volunteer to cover at least one topic each. Given that each speaker will speak for only a few minutes, and that this is a consumer-oriented course and will focus on practical (rather than esoteric legal) issues, the preparation time should not be significant.
Please consider signing up as a presenter. Select a couple of topics from the attached outline and indicate your order of preference. Please email your selections to Katie Lupo (I’ve copied her on this email for that purpose).
Thank you, Rick
